Ingredients

Duck • Marinade (water, sugars (sugar, brown sugar, glucose-fructose, maple sugar), vinegar, canola oil, tomato paste, whisky, salt, modified corn starch, spices, modified vinegar, guar gum, onion powder, garlic powder, flavour, smoke flavour, maple flavour type).

Preparation

Remove the duck breast from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before cooking. When ready to cook, take it out of its packaging.

Cooking

Cooking times indicated in the methods may vary depending on the ovens or grills used.

Pan

Cooking: 10 minutes

  • Heat a pan over low heat and place the breast in it. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes.
  • Flip the breast and continue cooking for 5 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 58°C (137°F).
  • The breast should be moderately firm to the touch and still pink inside. Remove the breast from the pan and let it rest for 5 minutes on a plate, loosely covered with aluminum foil.

BBQ

Cooking: 15 minutes

  • Preheat the BBQ to maximum heat.
  • Grill the breast over direct heat for 2 minutes on each side.
  • Continue cooking over indirect heat, with the lid closed, for 6 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 58°C (137°F).
  • The breast should be moderately firm to the touch and still pink inside.
